“We hope that membership of the FBDi will enable us to exchange experiences and opinions within the association.”
The Semitron W. Röck test house provides services to optimize semiconductor workflows, ensure the quality and authenticity of components and provide scalable solutions for small and large-scale production.
This new membership once again underlines the importance of exchanging ideas with other distributors and providing targeted support in the application and interpretation of environmental legislation – especially in the electronics industry, which is characterized by many specific challenges. This is precisely where the trade association offers its members a professional platform as a discussion forum, as a supplier of meaningful market analyses and market data, and to underpin their positioning within the value chain.
The exchange of information with other industry players on a shared platform opens up additional aspects and approaches for day-to-day business.By contributing to the further development of the distribution landscape, direct communication opens up benefits for all members and distribution customers.
Jürgen Rohland, Managing Director at Semitron W. Röck: “We hope that membership of the FBDi will enable us to exchange experiences and opinions within the association. In particular, the content developed in the working groups on topics such as the environment, EU regulations and conformity has aroused our interest.”
The Semitron W. Röck Company
Semitron W. Röck GmbH was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in Küssaberg, with three branches in Germany and one in Switzerland. With 176 employees, the distributor achieved a turnover of 276 million euros in 2023. Through partnerships with industry leaders, products can be supplied across the entire signal chain – semiconductor ICs, packaged products, software and services.
In the test house, the distributor offers solutions for electronic components – from programming to long-term storage: component programming, authenticity testing for electronic components, electronic component testing, long-term packaging for electronic components and tape-and-reel service for ICs.
The Association of Components Distribution eV
Founded in 2003, the FBDi bundles the interests of its members from the distribution sector, who represent around three quarters of the sales volume of electronic components in Central Europe (DACH). It has an overview of the entire electronics value chain.
In addition to the preparation and further development of data on the Central European distribution market, competence teams on important regulatory topics in the electronics industry (including CE, directives and regulations) generate a high level of market-oriented expertise. This qualifies FBDi as a sought-after partner for politicians, electronics manufacturers and customers. As a member of the international distribution association IDEA, FBDi exchanges information with other associations at European level.
